Policies & Procedures

Arriving

  • Upon arriving, if my door is open, please feel free to walk in. If the door is closed, please hang out in the waiting area in the hallway- I'll come get you when I’m ready!

  • Please do not smoke prior to your appointment. Myself and many of my clients are sensitive to smoke, and I try to make my practice as welcoming as possible to all. If you are a heavy smoker, please note that nicotine in your body passes into mine via my hands, and causes a negative reaction for me that I would like to avoid. I ask you choose another therapist to work with, until you choose to stop smoking.

Last-minute cancellations & No-Shows

  • I have an 18-hour cancellation policy. If your appointment is sooner than 24 hours away, you will not be able to cancel or reschedule online and must contact me directly, preferably text, at (252) 341-3401. If you are cancelling within the 18-hr window, understand you will be charged 100% of your session price*. No-shows are automatically charged 100% of session price; however, I will call you before processing your payment.

  • *Exemptions (and I hope you all would give me the same grace in these situations as well):

    • You are sick (Please don’t come in and get better!)

    • An immediate family member has a health emergency

    • You get in an accident, or car trouble on the way to the office

    • There is inclement weather that is causing hazardous road conditions for you (stay safe and stay home!)

    • I can fill your slot with someone on my waitlist last-minute

  • If you book without a card on file (e.g., via contacting me and not online), you will be sent an invoice for the no-show. I cannot force you to pay this fee, however, you will be denied any further appointments until the bill is paid.

Late Arrivals

  • I book an additional 30 minutes for each service (ex: for a 60 min massage, I book 90 minutes out of my day). This is to ensure that we have time to chat about your session, for you to get on & off the table, be checked out, and for me to turn the room over for my next client. My policy is that any amount of time over the first 15 minutes of your appointment that we begin the session, expect that amount of time to be taken off your service. (Example: your 60-minute massage is at 9am, you arrive 13 minutes late and with our chat and you getting on the table, we begin at 9:18am- you can now expect a 57-minute massage.)

Client Expectations

  • I expect everyone to know how to be appropriate and respectful, but unfortunately that’s not always the case. I reserve the right to terminate the session at ANY point, and charge full price for the session, if a client attempts to cross my professional boundaries. This includes:

    • Asking to remove the drape (it’s NC law to have one sheet on the client’s body, if you are uncomfortable with this, please book with someone else.)

    • Any pushing of boundaries of my NC LMBT scope of practice.  Please go on https://www.ncbtmb.org/standards-of-practice/ if you are unsure what this includes. I am happy to educate anyone with questions but continuing to request anything I’ve stated as outside my scope will result in termination.
